It is crucial to teach our children about art.

Art is expression.

Art is creative problem-solving.

Art is change.

Every year, there are more and more requirements put on teachers. So many standards, with less time with our students, they are always being pulled out of class, or other subjects get priority. My goal is for this site to take the stress out of planning lessons that include art history.

I am a huge nerd, I love a good documentary. In college, word got around that I had already watched every documentary my art professors threw at me.

In 2020, I started an informal podcast called Atypical Art Podcast, where I interviewed local, underrepresented artists with the hopes of sharing their story with my existing followers and building a community. After a few months, I had a hard time finding artists who were willing to chat with me. So I started Atypical Art Podcast, Kids, where I would go to my local library, find children's books that were art-related, and post myself reading them, while creating a corresponding project for each story. I shared these videos with the families for whom I was a nanny, but could no longer see them due to the pandemic.

Bring back the joy in learning.

Make art to make change.

Art for all.
